Rene Sintenis (German 1888 Glatz/Schlesien - 1965 Berlin) "Galoppierendes Fohlen 1928" Bronze with dark brown patina. An early highly detailed cast possibly from 1928 but definitely cast before1945. Inscribed with initials RS on the right hind hoof (Signiert mit dem Monogramm am rechten Hinterhuf ). Her sculptures are exhibited in these as well as many other museums throughout the world: Georg Kolbe Museum in Berlin , Osthaus Museum in Hagen, Museum Pachen inRockenhausen, Tate Gallery inLondon, Los Angeles County Museum of Art and The Art Institute of Chicago. She was considered the most important female German sculptor of the early 20th century.
