Professor Peter Breuer taught sculpture at the Art Academy of Berlin and is recognized as one most important pioneers of Modernism at the Berlin School of Sculpture. His sculpture of Beethoven in Bonn met with an immense amount of derision in the 1920's , but is now regarded as a masterpiece of modern sculpture.
